brought to you by the Main Streets of Old Town Association in partnership with the Culture & Heritage Museums of York County

Start planning now so you won't miss a minute of the fun!

Did you ever open a storybook and want to step inside? Or dream of a simpler time - filled with music and merriment and festive folks brimming with good cheer? If so, then bundle up the family and become part of the whimsical world of Vernon Grant!

Once again in December the Main Streets of Old Town, in historic downtown Rock Hill, SC, will come alive as a charming, picturesque holiday village and outdoor walking art festival. ChristmasVille celebrates the art of adopted Rock Hill son, Vernon Grant, who is the artist of the famed Kellogg’s Rice Krispies characters Snap! Crackle! Pop!, cousins of ChristmasVille's Grant the Gnome.

Vernon Grant was a nationally known artist whose works have graced over 200 magazine covers. Over the years, Mr. Grant created a magical collection of illustrations depicting a quaint holiday village filled with festive holiday goers and Santa and his delightful gnomes. The Main Streets of Old Town Association, in partnership with York County’s Culture & Heritage Museums, and the Vernon Grant family, invite you to become a part of this new holiday tradition.

2008 was the third annual ChristmasVille in Rock Hill. This year we added some new festivities - like the Chili Cook-off, the Holiday Divas Show, the Reindeer Romp 5K run, and the Holiday Hounds dog costume contest - but we kept all the fun from the 2007 event - including the Carriage Rides, the Grinch on Main Street, the Tour of Historic Homes, and the Snow Village (with 20 tons of REAL snow!)  And of course, don’t forget about the other 100-plus events for all ages!
For this year's Lighting of the Village opening ceremonies, we added a giant outdoor video screen so no matter where you were in the crowd, you still had the best seats on the street!
Although the ChristmasVille gnomes are still a bit weary, we'll be posting photos from the 2008 event soon - so keep checking in on our photo page. And don't forget to e-mail us and let us know what you thought about the 2008 event.

2007 was the second annual ChristmasVille in Rock Hill. We were thrilled that, after only our first year out in 2006, we were voted runner up for Event of the Year in the entire state of South Carolina by Showfest 2007! We were even more excited to win the SCFEA 2007 Event of the Year Award! With over 90 festivities in four days last year, ChristmasVille offered something for everyone.

And remember...

You’ll hear sleigh bells ring and children sing and gnomes giving tours of all the Cultures of the World. There’ll be crafts for the making and presents worth wrapping and plenty of holiday cheer. You’ll see storefronts gleaming with spectacular designer trees just waiting to be auctioned off for charity.

There’ll be fashion and artisans and carolers - by Dickens! Lamp-lights and star-light and dazzling white lights. Greenery and scenery and marshmallow roasts. Toddies and chocolates and gifts you love most! But most of all - there will be a storybook village come to life - welcoming your family to the whimsical world of Vernon Grant’s ChristmasVille.

Happy holidays to all!
And to all - see you this Christmas...in Historic Downtown Rock Hill, SC!

Ho! Ho! Ho!
